The short story of Ruth Ellis is that at the age of 19 I boldly bought a one-way ticket to New York. Blessedly, I loved the city and lived, studied, and performed there for 14 years. I earned my Bachelors and Masters degrees in vocal performance in at the Manhattan School of Music. I have credits across the nation and perform both Broadway and Classical music. I am an event singer, perform in musicals, operas, oratorios and solo concerts.
I have been sharing my training as a teacher for 10 years in Orem, Utah at the Ruth Ellis Vocal Academy and have recently jointed the faculty at Utah Valley Univeristy as an adjunct vocal instructor. I have been an officer in the local chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing for 8 years and am currently serving as the President.
